Hi! I’m Kat and I’m a BobKat
Okay moving on, anyway this is my wonderful little new blog that I’m using as sort of an outlet to help me deal with my move to Athens and my first time being on my own.
Yes, first time.
See, I’m a sheltered little kitten and I’ve never been away from home without people I know very well. When I went to Ecuador this summer, I was with kids I’ve gone to school with for years. When I went camping, I was with one of my best friends. When I went to London and France I was with my aunt.
And now I’m all alone.
Don’t get me wrong, these are supposed to be the best four years of my life, but I’m frankly scared shitless. I’m afraid of making a bad rep for myself, however hard that may be in a school of over 17,000 and I’m scared of making friends.
I suffer from “I’m a painfully shy awkward dork who’s having flashbacks of the day I came to my old high school.”
Thankfully, yesterday, two juniors who live across the hall sort of “adopted” me and they’ve been showing me around. I’m just happy to have some people who genuinely enjoy my presence. We went to a small party at the rec center and got some free stuff, which was nice, and I found all the buildings where my classes are.
Hey yeah Central Classroom Building? You’re central to absolutely nothing and you have 3 classrooms AND you look like you’re more haunted than a 1500s cemetery.
So, today’s game plan is buying some conditioner (forgot some at home), going to the floor meeting (My RAs are AWESOME!), then heading over to be addressed by the president of the school, and then going to the involvement fair where I get to join clubs and stuff!, and FINALLY going to a meeting with my adviser.
My day’s gonna get real busy once 1:30 hits. So for now, peace out!
